The University of Reading Careers department supports students to develop their careers and employability through a range of services, initiatives and projects.

We are hiring a Projects Assistant (Careers) to support the delivery of student-facing employability schemes, primarily the Reading Internship Scheme and Finalist Futures.

The role will involve a combination of administrative and student-facing responsibilities, supporting the promotion, coordination and day-to-day operation of the schemes. The postholder will report to the Projects Manager (Careers), be supervised by the Finalist Futures Project Manager in respect of Finalist Futures-related activities, and will work closely with colleagues across Careers to support the successful delivery of student employability initiatives.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys combining organisation and administration with working directly with students. You will help keep our schemes running smoothly, support promotional and engagement activity, respond to student enquiries and help students make the most of the opportunities available to them.

You will have:

Good communication skills and the confidence to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage competing deadlines.

Experience of providing administrative support in a busy environment, with good attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

A professional, helpful and student-focused approach, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
