At City of York we want to see all children and young people grow and thrive in foster families if they cannot be at home. This role sits within the IRO Service and is responsible for the statutory review of foster carers and quality assurance of our residential provision through Reg44 processes.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to work independently and manage your caseload; be child centred in your work; have good analytical skills, have the ability to chair challenging meetings and the ability to achieve collaborative resolution of complex issues. You will be skilled in confidently working with children of all ages, their families and carers, multi-agency partnerships and senior managers.
We are not currently licenced to sponsor employees for visas, therefore are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. This role is not suitable for newly qualified social workers.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
