We're looking for a motivated and commercially minded MRICS Chartered Surveyor to join our Asset Management and Valuation team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your professional expertise across a varied range of valuation and estate management projects, supporting strategic property decisions that deliver value for clients and communities alike.

Why This Role Matters

As a Chartered Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality valuation and estate management services across operational, non-operational and surplus property assets. Your expertise will help inform critical decisions relating to acquisitions, disposals, lease negotiations, asset valuations and portfolio management.
Working closely with clients, stakeholders and decision-makers, you'll provide trusted professional advice that helps maximise asset value, supports financial reporting requirements and contributes to the effective management of property portfolios.

• Deliver annual asset valuation programmes in accordance with RICS Red Book and CIPFA guidance.
• Manage a broad range of estate management matters including rent reviews, lease renewals, assignments, dilapidations and compensation claims.
• Lead negotiations on acquisitions, disposals, leases, easements, licences and other property interests.
• Provide expert advice and clear recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, presentations and briefing papers for committees and working groups.
• Build strong relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Support business development opportunities and contribute to service growth objectives.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced property professional who can combine technical expertise with sound commercial judgement and excellent stakeholder management skills.

You'll bring:

Essential Requirements

• Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in an estates-related discipline.
• Significant experience in valuation and estate management.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, professional standards and industry guidance.
• Experience managing a varied caseload and delivering work to demanding timescales.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• RICS Registered Valuer status or working towards registration.
• Experience working within local government or large public sector organisations.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a professional and supportive team where your expertise will directly influence property and asset management decisions across a diverse portfolio.

In return, you'll benefit from:

• £45,529 salary + annual uplift
• NEST pension & 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (rising to 33 with continuous service)
• Hybrid working in Newport
• Occupational sick pay & Employee Assistance Programme
• A supportive team with a culture built around professionalism, respect and continuous improvement
