Job summary

We are looking for a psychologist with an interest in holistic work and strength-based approaches to bring psychology to all aspects of a new paediatric respiratory service based at St Mary's Hospital, London W2. You will work together with an 8a psychologist who brings expertise in the wider service to develop the pathway, offer clinical interventions and be part of the MDT.

Main duties of the job

To offer psychological thinking to all aspects of a child and family's journey in this health setting.

To be flexible in how psychological engagement, talking and creative approaches to health and wellbeing can be offered.

To work together with the mdt and community services so that young people are supported where their psychological needs can be best met.

To consider equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work and ensure the young person's and family's voice is heard in the system.

To take part in CPD, clinical governance forums and maintain and continue best practice in relation to local and national guidance.

CNWL paediatric psychology services are embedded in hospitals across NW London. We have provided services for many years in this area as well as developing new posts. We support each other with supervision, CPD, reflective practice and opportunities for learning in the wider mental health trust, and bring back this learning into an acute physical setting. We enjoy innovative and creative systemic working with the child younger person and family at the heart of how we work. Imperial healthcare NHS trust funds this service and is very open and valuing of psychology roles within their MDTs.
