Job summary

Provide a first-class Electrocardiography (ECG) service throughout the trust. You will have responsibility for actively participating as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Cardiology department to provide a seamless service to patients with proximal supervision from qualified staff.

Diagnostic procedures will include: 12 lead ECG's, applying ambulatory monitors for ECG and blood pressure readings.

Support the Echo and TOE team with stock control and assisting with procedures when required.

Main duties of the job

Testing patients of all ages, in a variety of locations. This will involve communicating complex instructions and clinical information effectively to patients of all ages and relatives to ensure cooperation and compliance and to obtain accurate technical and clinical data. This may include patients with communication difficulties (e.g. language barriers, hearing and/or visual impairment, impaired mental state), when there may be hostility or when persuasive and motivational skills may be required with patients reluctant to undergo investigations

Perform the full range of basic Cardiac Investigations, subject to indirect supervision which requires a high level of theoretical knowledge and developed skills, on patients of all ages, to obtain good quality diagnostic information. The range of investigations includes:

*Resting Electrocardiograms

*Application of 24-Hour ECG monitors

*Application of 24-hour BP monitors

*Application of Patient activated monitors
