About us

About King’s Digital

Our mission is to provide transformative, high-quality digital education, so students can learn, wherever they are.

We collaborate with academics and professional services staff across the university, and with our external partners, to design, develop and deliver a wide range of educational programmes.

Our learners study with us from across the world, choosing when and where they study, working around their schedules.

We are a dynamic team with ambitious growth targets in a priority area of development for King’s. We proudly foster a supportive culture and community which prioritises both individual and collective wellbeing.

As part of hybrid working at King’s, all team members can work remotely for part of the week if they wish.

About the role

The purpose of the role will be to support the team on numerous & varied tasks. You will be responsible for the quality assurance of the content we produce, as well as providing insight on workflows and procedures, flagging issues where necessary.

You will focus on achieving and maintaining accuracy, consistency and quality in everything we produce. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who can work unsupervised and with a mindset about constantly improving what we are doing.

This is an excellent entry level position for anyone looking for a career in e-learning.

The role is primarily based at King’s Waterloo Campus, though you may be required to travel to other campuses on occasion.

Key responsibilities:

Copyediting and proofreading content, using several style guidelines & referencing systems depending on the programme (e.g. King’s In-house Editorial Style Guide, APA, etc.) and ensuring consistency in the layout.

Performing functionality checks & ensuring the content is accessible.

Reviewing content on different platforms, such as King’s Moodle (KEATS), other virtual learning environments (e.g. EdX), SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.

Identifying and reporting issues on KEATS using quality assurance (QA) tracking tools and ensuring their resolution.

Making sure that media transcription and captioning are accurate and accessible, & transcripts are available to learners.

Performing simple edits on the content in KEATS.

Being up to date with workflows and processes & able to support the team in identifying & resolving issues.

Working well with project management software (e.g. ClickUp).

Updating quality assurance process documentation.

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
