Job summary

We welcome applications from experienced, dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacists to lead our fantastic pharmacy team at the Haywood Hospital within MPFT NHS Trust

You will be working as part of a well-established team of clinical pharmacists leading and driving the development of the clinical and operational pharmacy services. This role will be extremely rewarding, and requires a motivated, dynamic individual who is skilled in working at an operational and clinical level with a range of stakeholders and a track record for service development and delivering to agreed targets.

The working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with no weekend working, limited late shift duties and Bank Holiday commitments. On call commitments include a remote out-of-hours advice only 'on call' service (rota basis). This provides a fantastic work life balance whilst being a valued member of the Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation Team.

Main duties of the job

As the Deputy Service Lead Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:

The safe, effective and efficient management and delivery of pharmacy operational services at the Haywood Community Hospital and designated Trust inpatient physical/mental health community hospitals/clinic settings.

Working closely with the Deputy Director of Pharmacy in redesigning and transforming Pharmacy services across the physical/mental health portfolio and lead on audit and quality assurance of pharmacy services.

Develop, agree and monitor key performance indicators through the Service Lead Pharmacist to identify that all legal, professional and quality standards are met and to demonstrate continuous quality improvement and communicate these to the pharmacy senior management team.

Develop and deliver comprehensive training and education on medicine issues within procurement and formulary services to members of the pharmacy service and the wider MDT.

The post involves a very significant clinical role with ward visits and input to consultant ward rounds / team meetings, directorate support, as well as a substantial training and management element. The post holder will also be required to support the Deputy Director of Pharmacy in redesigning and transforming Pharmacy services across the physical health portfolio and lead on audit and quality assurance of pharmacy services.
