This is the perfect opportunity to lead a team of Out of Hours Drivers and be part of a diverse team providing an efficient and comprehensive administration and reception service.

As a Lead UTC Driver, you will be considered a key person to help in day-to-day administrative tasks within the UTC Out of Hours along with driving the doctors to their visits, without you the UTC would not function efficiently. This is a genuine opportunity to be a part of a team in South-East London, with a real opportunity for personal growth and to influence UTC in your area. We are looking for Bank drivers. The service is 365 days per year which means a range of shifts will be available.

Main duties of the job

Principal duties and responsibilities

As the Lead Driver, you will steer the execution of the efficient andtimelytransportation of the UTC Out of Hours and UrgentTreatmentCentre(UTC)services,facilitatingthetransportationofGPstodeliverpatientcare.

MainDuties:

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the fleet's vehicles to operate any vehicle as needed.

Assist in conducting vehicle checks during shifts to ensure the safety of GPs, oneself, and the public

Coordinate rotas for the team

Conduct annual appraisals, manage the teams annual leave and sickness via the digital HR system

Adhere to the driver's rota and shift schedules in compliance with working time regulations.

Provide support to colleagues to minimize lone working, prioritizing personal and collective safety.

Ensure the secure handling of drugs and clinical equipment during shift turnover, recording usage appropriately.

• Undertake regular stock checks for drugs and any other equipment

Complete timesheets, vehicle log sheets, and logbooks

Assist in monitoring daily transport performance, reporting findings to the lead driver.

Maintainthecleanliness,security,androutinemaintenanceofvehiclesandequipment

during shifts.

Maintain the cleanliness, security, and routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment during shifts.

Report and address any necessary repairs for vehicles and equipment, guaranteeing their fitness for use.

Operate all in-car communications and patient management system equipment to support accurate record keeping.

Support the induction and guidance of new employees to familiarise them with business operations and the geographical area.

Plan the most efficient routes for and between home visits.

Assist with basic administrative duties and use Microsoft Outlook to read and respond to emails.

Participate in licence checks, driver assessments, and mandatory driver training.

Foster positive communication among drivers, GPs, UTC colleagues, and external partners.

Engage actively in team and departmental meetings. Support GPs where needed with chaperoning.

Support GPs and the admin team with any assistance required.

Direct calls to appropriate extensions, deal with telephone enquiries, and record messages when required.

Maintain a professional appearance with attire suitable for a business environment.
