Main duties of the job

  • Maintain cleanliness standards in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties across designated areas.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
  • Use and store cleaning materials and equipment safely.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and local policies.
  • Work to established cleaning schedules and service standards.
  • Undertake damp dusting, vacuuming, mopping and carpet cleaning.
  • Complete bed base cleaning in accordance with procedures.
  • Change curtains in line with organisational guidelines.
  • Carry out and record cleanliness audits.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning materials and supplies.
  • Monitor and order linen as required.
  • Complete and record water flushing duties.
  • Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
  • Report maintenance issues and repair requirements promptly.
  • Carry a personal alarm in designated areas when required.
  • Complete timesheets accurately and on time.
  • Raise any non-compliance or health and safety concerns with the line manager.
  • Complete all mandatory and role-specific training requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to meet service and organisational needs.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list.
