Are you passionate about supporting children, young people and families? Do you want to play a key role in safeguarding vulnerable children and helping families access the support they need?

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Social Work Assistant to join our busy and supportive Safeguarding Hub within Children's Services on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with children, young people or families who wants to further develop their career in social care.

As a Social Work Assistant, you will work alongside experienced Social Workers and Team Managers to support the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. You will play an important role in ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking and processing referrals in line with service procedures.
• Undertaking direct work with children and families under the supervision of a Social Worker.
• Identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Working collaboratively with service users, partner agencies and voluntary organisations.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records using service IT systems.
• Supporting the smooth running of the team and contributing to team activities.

You will have:

• A-Level education or an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Social Care.
• Experience of working with children and young people in a social care, education, youth work or voluntary setting.
• An understanding of social work practice and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
• A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
