The position has become available following the retirement in our nursing team. We are offering a permanent, part-time position for up to 18 hours per week. Thorpe Hesley Surgery is a well-established, sole partner training practice that provides high-quality, patient-focused care supported by our wider team.

The role needs to be worked flexibly in line with the practice opening hours
Will work collaboratively within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, support the delivery of the Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF) and any other performance monitoring systems.

Job responsibilities
Assist in and perform routine tasks relating to patient care. Undertake and promote cervical cytology. Manage newly diagnosed patients with Asthma, COPD & Diabetes.
Undertake Chronic disease management and prevention Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism, LD.
Perform wound care using aseptic technique and general wound care.
Undertake opportunistic screening of BP checks, height, weight, BMI, urinalysis, glucose monitoring and smoking status.
Administer injections under an individual prescription or patient group direction
Offer comprehensive advice on travel health for patients prior to travel.
Competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques.
Child Health and Child Protection, including immunisations.
Promote health and well-being, using health promotion, health education, screening.
Refer and use social prescribing teams.
To undertake home visits when needed.
To clearly communicate the health status of the patient using appropriate terminology, technology and format.
INR monitoring if agreed by a shared care protocol.
