Job summary

To provide clinical leadership within the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service (FOLS) in accordance with agreed service and directorate objectives and operating procedures. The post holder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, consultation and risk management for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who present with complex trauma, offending behaviour and forensic risk. The post holder will also contribute to service development, research, audit, supervision, teaching and professional leadership within the service.

A Unique Opportunity Across Two Specialist Forensic Services Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic or Clinical) to provide leadership and specialist psychological expertise across two established forensic services.

Within FOLS, you will support people with learning disabilities and/or autism who present with complex trauma, offending behaviours and forensic risks. Within SCFT, you will work with individuals affected by mental illness and/or personality disorder who have offended, or who present a risk of offending and causing harm to themselves or others.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical practice, support multidisciplinary teams and help shape the future of specialist forensic services across Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The Role

You will:

  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and risk management.
  • Offer expert consultation and advice to multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
  • Lead on complex forensic and clinical cases across both services.
  • Supervise and support psychology colleagues, trainees and wider team members.
  • Contribute to service development, research, audit and innovation.
  • Help develop psychologically informed approaches that improve outcomes and reduce risk.
