Job summary
This Otology Clinical Fellow post is a whole-time appointment with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust until August 2027. The post is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. The appointee will provide intermediate grade support to the teams appropriate to their level of experience.
The appointment is due to commence as soon as possible. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. This post is equivalent to ST3 and above (or equivalent). Senior Trainees are also welcome to apply. The post does not carry a National Training Number and is not recognised as a 'training post'
Main duties of the job
Appointments are made to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the person appointed is required to be sufficiently flexible to undertake their main clinical duties at any of the sites within the Trust.
The ENT Consultants will delegate specific duties and responsibilities in accordance with experience/competence and the needs of the department. Changes in duties and responsibilities will be agreed with the consultant to whom the post holder will be responsible, i.e. Prof. J. Ray.
The Clinical Fellows will cover Thursday night's on-call between them, including prospective cover for one another, as well as providing prospective cover for the SAS Doctor's leave on Monday night.
The appointee would be expected to play a full part in the clinical, teaching and governance activities of the directorate.
