Job summary
We are looking for a flexible, confident and empathetic person to join our friendly and dedicated Reception Team. This is a part time position for a Medical Receptionist. Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Working hours are to be discussed at interview but will contain 8am starts and a 6pm finishes.
Main duties of the job
Main aspect of the role is to be the first point of contact for patients, secondary care and outside agencies. You will need a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. You will be required to provide admin support to our Clinicians by processing various tasks including prescriptions and follow up appointments whilst adhering to Practice policies and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Job Summary:
To provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to both patients and other visitors, in person or via the telephone.
To ensure all reception duties are undertaken efficiently and promptly.
Job Responsibilities:
- To have a knowledge and understanding of Practice policies and procedures.
- To work in accordance to written protocols surrounding the reception team.
- Filing post in medical records
- Photocopying as requested
- Dealing with patients and visitors both face-to-face and via the telephone
- To be able to cover all receptions positions as necessary
- Handling completed repeat prescriptions and processing requests where required
- Processing appointments requests for patients by telephone and in person
- Deal with home visit requests
- Summarising
- Scanning and coding of letters

We are a small practice based in North Ormesby, we have 4 GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 Practice Nurse and 1 Health Care Assistant supported by our dedicated Reception / Admin Team.
