The Role
We require a dependable, enthusiastic, and motivated Pharmacy Counter Assistant to deliver a high-quality, effective, and efficient patient-focused service.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Providing excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
Taking in and handing out prescriptions safely and efficiently.
Providing basic healthcare advice and recommending over-the-counter products.
Processing transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system.
Assisting with over-the-counter stock management and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, be highly committed, and be a great team player. You should also possess excellent skills in accuracy and have a strong attention to detail.
You must hold an NVQ Level 2 Medicine Counter Assistant qualification OR be willing to undertake this training.

Job description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving prescriptions into the Pharmacy Shop for hospital outpatients and patients discharged from same day emergency care wards. Ensuring to ask the appropriate safety questions and communicate these to the Responsible Pharmacist.
Co-lead in the management of the shop stock for sale to the public. Including the ordering and booking in of stock, stock rotation, layout of stock and expiry date checking.
To sell over the counter medications in an appropriate and safe manner.
To manage the filing of prescriptions daily, and at the end of the month.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
If successful this vacancy will require an Enhanced DBS check.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee.
