Job summary

The successful candidate will work in a team of dedicated consultant respiratory paediatricians, delivering high quality respiratory care to children in the North East and North Cumbria region. The post has arisen through retirement of a current consultant.

Clinical duties will include consultant of the week and on call responsibilities, as well as regular general respiratory outpatient clinics, specialist respiratory clinics with the exact distribution of specialist interest areas to be agreed between department and successful candidate.

Job description

Provide on-call respiratory paediatric care for all paediatric inpatients at GNCH and FRH. Other duties may include (specialist areas to be decided dependent on experience/departmental need):o Oversee and report sleep studies and other physiological investigationso Manage the care of children receiving long term ventilation in home, including inpatient, outpatient care and when required home visitingo Ensure quality assurance of sleep and physiological investigationso Contribute to the complex airway service in both inpatient and outpatient settings
