Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Catering Department at the Freeman Hospital for 2 part time Catering Assistants to work as a part of our team working in the Freeman Catering Department serving food to staff, visitors and patients.

As a part of the team you will also be responsible for the cleanliness of the department in line with food hygiene regulations and trust policies.

Position 1 working 5 days over 7 on a 3-week roster

Position 2 working Monday to Friday

Position 1 - 16:00 to 20:00 / Position 2 - 11:15 to 15:15

Main duties of the job

  • Cleaning of the equipment within the department.
  • Working on the patient belt, placing food on the plate to ensure patient gets the food they require.
  • Working in the dish wash area stripping the trolleys and placing the crockery through the washers.
  • Filling in of departmental paper work.
  • General cleaning duties within the department.
  • At all times following food hygiene and trust policy regulations.

Job description

  • Responsible for assisting in the efficient and effective preparation and service of food to Patients and delivery to the wards and associated cleaning and hygiene related duties.
