Estates Support Worker (Higher Level)NHS
Job summary
To perform work of a routine non-complex nature, to maintain and repair electrical, mechanical equipment, tools or other on-site facilities. Ensures the fabric of the building provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. Taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake a full range of duties as requested by line manager.
- To follow planned maintenance schedules under the instruction of the line manager.
- To carry out routine maintenance, fault finding and repairs to electrical, mechanical equipment, tools or other site facilities.
- To liaise with Wards & Departments to ensure that maintenance and fault reports are dealt with appropriately and efficiently in accordance with policies and procedures.
- To liaise with line manager regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
- To participate in surveys or audits.
- To participate in the roadway and pathway "gritting rota" during winter months.
- To carry out duties independently without routine supervision, ensuring all work is prioritised and completed in a timely manner.
- To fully participate as a member of the maintenance team and demonstrate effective communication with colleagues.
- To follow all department quality procedures and complete all records as necessary (Including completion of all job dockets, maintenance report sheets and timesheets etc).
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service providing support to different locations as required by the Estates & Planning Department.
- To attend NHS and manufacturers training establishments as necessary.
