We have fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Neurodiversity team at HMP Belmarsh. HMP Belmarsh is a Category A prison in London.
HMP Belmarsh is a busy male maximum security prison with a capacity for around 720 males. Your role will involve providing care and support in a personalised and responsive manner predominantly to patients with Learning/ Intellectual Disability and/or Autism, but also other types of neurodiversity support needs. You will provide support to enable them to integrate into the prison regime as appropriate, whilst maintaining independence, physical, and emotional wellbeing. This will include providing support to build confidence and skills in all activities of daily living.
Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.
Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600 Salary Paying up to £32,134 per annum

Main duties of the job
As our new Learning Disability Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

- Provide a holistic and individualised approach to care and improve the lives of people on your caseload, by supporting access to the regime, activities, and healthcare.
- Liaise with patients families, community agencies, and other prisons to ensure joined up care and effective transitions/handover.
- Provide evidence based interventions (1:1 and groups,) deliver triages/screening of patients, and refer on for additional support as necessary.
- Contribute to MDT meetings and planning.
- Work under the guidance of qualified Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Nurses.
