Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, you will play a vital role in supporting the care team to deliver exceptional personal care to residents. Your responsibilities will include monitoring residents' wellbeing and assisting with medication requirements, ensuring that care plans are updated to reflect any changes in needs. You will also be involved in the person-centred care planning process and undertake staff supervisions to support their development. As a key point of contact, you will communicate with residents, their relatives, and health professionals, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly. Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability tocommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
