We are recruiting a Maintenance Technician (Plumbing/Mechanical) to join our Estates team, supporting the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance service across Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will undertake repairs, installations, and planned preventative maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems and associated equipment across multiple Trust sites. Working as part of a skilled Estates team, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the hospital environment, supporting the delivery of outstanding care for children and young people.

This role requires a proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain high standards of service, safety, and compliance.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Head of Operations & Maintenance some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead on complex plumbing/mechanical maintenance tasks and projects
  • Carry out fault finding, repairs, planned maintenance, and safe isolations on plant and equipment
  • Inspect, diagnose, and resolve faults on engineering systems and installations
  • Supervise and support colleagues and contractors as required
  • Use specialist tools and testing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of services
  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality maintenance across the Trust estate.
