Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, confident and people-focused individuals to join our new Face Fit Testing Team.

Face fit testing for respiratory protective equipment is a mandatory requirement under health and safety legislation. This role will play an important part in overseeing the delivery, development and compliance of an effective face fit testing service across the Trust.

The successful candidates will work within the Health and Safety Team and closely with staff and colleagues across a range of services, using excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide a professional, supportive and responsive service.

Applicants should indicate their preferred hospital base from the main Trust sites: Royal Free Hospital, North Middlesex Hospital, and Barnet / Chase Farm Hospitals. Although the roles will be predominantly site-based within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, travel to other Trust sites will be required to meet service needs and ensure face fit testing is delivered effectively across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

You will carry out face fit testing for staff required to wear FFP3 respirators, ensuring all testing is completed accurately and in line with established procedures.

Working with the Face Fit Team Lead, you will help deliver a safe, effective and compliant testing service. You will maintain accurate records, monitor testing requirements and ensure staff remain up to date.

You will work closely with colleagues across Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and Procurement to provide consistent, professional advice and support. The role includes both quantitative and qualitative face fit testing, including powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) where required.

This is a people-focused role where clear communication, attention to detail and a professional approach are essential. You will help staff understand and use respiratory protective equipment safely and effectively.
