Job summary

We are seeking a full-time Band 4 Business Support Administrator to join our Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection (MCA and COP) Service.

This hybrid role, based at Wonford House, Exeter with opportunities for home working, provides administrative, coordination and governance support to the MCA and COP Lead within the wider Mental Health Act Service.

You will support Court of Protection and Mental Capacity Act processes by maintaining records and filing systems, monitoring actions and deadlines, and supporting governance and audit activities. You will help manage the Legal Inbox, coordinate referrals and enquiries, and act as a point of contact for professionals, legal representatives and external agencies.

The role supports Court of Protection applications and proceedings, maintaining documentation, tracking deadlines, and formatting reports, statements and correspondence under instruction.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive individual with excellent communication and administrative skills who can manage competing priorities, work independently and accurately. Experience in healthcare, social care, legal or governance services would be beneficial but is not essential. Full training will be provided on the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and Court of Protection processes relevant to the role.

  • Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
