Main duties of the job

As a Female Driver Support Worker at Elysium Healthcare, you'll join a dedicated team at Ormesby House in Oxted, Surrey. You'll use your knowledge and empathy to positively impact individuals with mental health conditions. Your role involves working in a supportive team, engaging in day-to-day responsibilities such as participating in ward rounds, analyzing behaviors, updating patient records, and offering personal care, contributing significantly to the improvement of residents' lives. The position requires a UK driver's license, as it includes transporting residents for activities. Emphasizing kindness, teamwork, and ongoing training, the role is rewarding yet demands resilience and compassion. This temporary role spans a full-time 35-hour week, operating on 7-hour shifts from 7am-10pm, including alternate weekends.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent, 35 hours a week, full-time contract. Will be working on 7 hours shifts, or compressed shifts, between the hours of 7am and 10pm, including every other weekend shift on rota.

The vacancy requires female candidates who can drive and hold the UK drivers licence, also must be able to use the house vehicle and drive the residents for activities. This is to support the female residents in the most efficient manner.  Where you will be working:

Ormesby House provides a specialist residential service for all gender identities who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be of concern/distress. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems. As well as supporting individuals who have a learning disability, who are autistic, we are specialists in working with additional complex needs.   The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.   Ormesby House is situated in Oxted, Surrey and provides ten en-suite bedrooms, communal lounges and a sunroom along with a fully enclosed garden. Oxted is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and there are many local shops, restaurants, and cafes. The town also has a number of parks and green spaces.
