Assistant Open Spaces Officer

The successful applicant will support with public open space improvement projects across the Borough, helping encourage people to visit, play and move more in our parks and open spaces. Using your knowledge, skills and experience, the role will involve: Undertaking park and play area procurement exercises, including developing procurement briefs and specifications, working with the successful contractors through to project completion and ensuring schemes are completed on time and within budget. Assisting and improving the design, development and management of high quality, safe, inclusive and accessible parks and open spaces. Collaborating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the various strategies, including the Play Strategy, Open Spaces Strategy and Move More Strategy. Supporting the good management, maintenance and best practice in parks and open spaces, including our 9 Green Flag sites. Having a proactive and positive attitude.
