Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Officer to join our dynamic EPRR team. The post holder will support the Trust in meeting its statutory responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS England EPRR requirements, helping to ensure the organisation remains prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, major incidents and disruptive events. The role will support emergency planning, business continuity, training, exercising, assurance and operational resilience activities across the Trust. In addition, the post holder will line manage the EPRR Support Coordinators and be responsible for overseeing the smooth running, operational readiness and assurance of the Trust's EPRR fleet and equipment. The role requires close working with internal departments, NHS organisations, Local Resilience Forums and emergency service partners to support preparedness and resilience across the South West.
Base Location: East Devon Operations Centre (EDOC) or North Bristol Operations Centre (NBOC).
Travel: This is a Trust-wide role and will require regular travel across the South West to support meetings, training, exercises, incidents, fleet assurance activities and partnership working.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant EPRR Officer will support the delivery of the Trust's emergency preparedness, resilience and response programme through the development, maintenance and testing of emergency plans, business continuity arrangements and operational procedures. The post holder will coordinate and support training, exercises, audits and assurance activities, contribute to compliance with NHS England EPRR Core Standards and Interoperable Capability Standards, and participate in multi-agency planning with external partners. The role will provide line management to the EPRR Support Coordinators and oversee the management, maintenance and operational readiness of the Trust's EPRR fleet and equipment, ensuring resources remain available to support incidents, exercises and statutory requirements. The post holder will also support major incidents, command arrangements, events planning and a range of projects that strengthen the Trust's resilience and preparedness capabilities.
