Your main duties will include:

  • Providing a range of Practice Nurse services, including wound care, ECGs, venepuncture, new patient medicals and women's health.
  • Undertaking cervical cytology within your scope of practice.
  • Requesting and following up pathology tests and providing appropriate advice to patients.
  • Promoting health and wellbeing and helping patients understand vaccination and other health-related issues.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and using clinical systems effectively.
  • Supporting high standards of infection prevention and control and ensuring clinical environments, equipment and stock are appropriately managed.
  • Working collaboratively with GP practices, colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive appropriate care.
  • Identifying and escalating clinical, quality, health and safety concerns when required.
  • Managing your own workload effectively while working within your professional scope of practice and recognising when referral or additional support is required.

The role will involve working across different locations and travelling within the locality, so flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important.
