This isan exciting opportunity to work within and be part of a growing psychology service, which is based at Royal Preston Hospital.As a Band 7 psychological practitioner within ourClinical Health Psychology Service, you will have a vital role in helpingpatients torecoverafterhospital admissions andadapt to lifealteringphysical healthconditions,injuriesor changes.You willofferspecialist psychological assessments,formulationsand evidence-basedinterventionsto patients across the range ofclinical pathways we deliver. You will also offerconsultationto theMDTsyou will be working withandstaff trainingacross thehealth community.There will beopportunity todevelop understanding of the operational running of an outpatient psychology service as you rotate across each of the pathways of care we provide.There will also be opportunity toshapethe patient pathways and experiences of care bycontributingto the running and development of theClinical Health Psychology Servicein consultation and collaboration with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Head of Service, clinical colleagues and key stakeholders in the Clinical Business Unit.We haveastrongpatient experience andgovernance agenda,and you will have opportunitiesto contribute to thiswith our leadership team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ideally have experience of working within a physical healthsettingand of working with individuals living with long term conditions, persistentpainor neurologicalconditions. They will also have experience of working within MDT settings and be motivatedto learnand capableofbuildingadaptive and collaborativenew relationships with a range of other professionals.
There will be an expectation to undertake extended roles and responsibilities withinthe Clinical Health Psychology Service and to work flexibly across the services overall (includinginpatient and outpatient work) asrequiredand directed by the Consultant Psychologistand/or Head of Service.
You would be required to contribute to the running and development of the Service pathways in consultation and collaboration with the Consultant Clinical Psychologists, Head of Service, clinical colleagues, and key stakeholders in the Clinical Business Unit.
Job description
Duties to include but not be limited to:

- To provide a specialistadult psychology service acrossthe full range of physical health psychology pathways within the Clinical Health Psychology Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
- To rotate pathwaysand provide care where greatest need isaccording to ourbi-annualcapacity and demand calculations.
- To deliver highlyspecialist psychological assessment, intervention, adviceand consultation for patients, other healthprofessionalsand carers, working autonomouslywithin professional guidelines and frameworks governing each clinical area.
- To deliver this work across both inpatient and outpatient pathways, andany other setting in which the service is appropriately provided.
- To contribute to the provision of integrated multidisciplinary care (joint appointmentsand MDT assessment clinics) across the inpatient and outpatient pathwaysfor patients referred to us by our MDT colleagues.
- To train and supportMDT colleagues (and other health professionals) in psychologically informed care(education,consultationand clinical supervision)
- To form positive relationships and work in collaboration withthe clinical health psychology team,MDTcolleaguesand key stakeholders.
- To actively engage in own professional, leadership and operational development, including reflective practice.
- To routinely undertake research, audit and service evaluationprojects including reports of clinical activity and effectiveness.
- To contribute to the ongoing development of the care pathwaysand team.
- To contribute to the patient experience and governancetasks weset as wetransformcare.
- To work flexibly across CHPs pathways asrequiredand directed by the Head of Service.
