Deputy Ward Manager Band 6 | 37.5 Hours per Week (4 Days) | Monday to Friday

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 nurse to join the management team at Delamere Ward on a permanent as Deputy Ward Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SACT trained nurse within a busy outpatient service. The successful candidate will support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the unit, helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care.

The role will involve supporting workforce management, clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, audit, incident management, staff development and service delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to maintain service standards and support ongoing service development.

Main duties of the job

• Support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day operational management of Delamere Ward
• Provide visible clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care.
• Assist with workforce management, including staff deployment, rostering and maintaining safe staffing levels.
• Support clinical governance activities, including audits, quality improvement projects, monitoring compliance and implementing action plans.
• Participate in the investigation and management of incidents, complaints, risks and near misses
• Monitor compliance with Trust policies, procedures and safety standards, including infection prevention and control requirements.
• Support staff development through supervision, appraisal, training, competency assessment and ongoing performance support.
• Act as a key liaison between treatment hubs and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
• Support local assurance and governance requirements, including audits, environmental safety checks, fire safety, water flushing and other compliance activities.
• Deputise for the Ward Manager as required and provide management cover during periods of leave
• Contribute to service development initiatives and support the delivery of high-quality patient experience and outcomes.
• Promote a positive team culture and support staff wellbeing, engagement and professional development.
