Job summary

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support their community urology team. The role is offered on a part time basis for 16 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

• Ensure the efficient organisation and running of specialist clinics and clinical areas .
• Chaperoning and assisting procedures within the clinic setting.
• Perform bladder scans and uroflow studies.
• Observing, evaluating and recording information and reporting to the Advanced Urology Nurse Practitioner.
• Prepare the clinic and examination rooms, including instrument preparation for the clinical sessions.
• Maintain agreed standards of safety and hygiene of both equipment and treatment rooms.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any concerns to the service lead.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Ability to develop skills and practice to support the team or service.
• Promote good communication channels amongst staff enhancing good team work.
• Support and mentor colleagues and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in teaching nurse learners and students or healthcare professionals within the Medical Centre.
• Health promotion activities within the scope of practice, inc advice on diet, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking.
• Provide a high standard of professional conduct and and Nursing care at all times
