Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurse to join our dedicated Specialist Palliative Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who wishes to develop their passion and skills within palliative care.

This is a fixed-term post to create an opportunity to train and upskill someone into our team. There will be opportunities in the future to create a substantive position for the correct candidate. We encourage all prospect candidates to make enquires with the team leads prior to applying.

Main duties of the job

As a Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting patients with complex symptom management needs, enabling people to achieve their preferred place of care and supporting families through difficult and often life-changing circumstances.

Job description

We are looking for someone who:

Is a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

Has significant post-registration experience, ideally within palliative care, oncology, community nursing or a related specialty.

Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Is confident working autonomously whilst contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Has a compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle for community visits.

Is willing to seek proactive feedback and seeking professional development.
