Marie Curie is expanding its overnight community service across West Cornwall and we're looking for compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team.

Main duties of the job

As an Overnight Healthcare Assistant, you'll provide one-to-one care and support for people living with a terminal illness in their own homes, helping them remain comfortable, safe and dignified throughout the night. Working independently with the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll make a real difference to patients and families during some of life's most challenging moments.

Role: End of Life Care Healthcare Assistant (Band 2)

Hours: 10:00pm to 7:00am night shifts

Contract: Permanent, part-time (18, 27 or 36 hours available)

Salary: OIRO £35,633.52 per annum pro rata (based on AFC Band 2 base salary £25,272 per annum plus enhancements for weekday and Saturday night working) plus additional enhancements for Sundays & Public Holidays

Bonus: You will receive a signing-on bonus of £750 payable upon completion of 6 months service.

Location: West East or Central Cornwall

Working Area: You'll work within approximately 25 miles of your home address, supporting patients within your local community.

What You'll Do

• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in patients' homes
• Support comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the night
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition
• Follow personalised care plans and work closely with the wider clinical team
• Provide reassurance and support to patients and those important to them

You'll have:

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• At least six months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach
• Experience or knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care
