We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurse to join our Primary Care and Mental Health team at HMP Preston, a category B Prison located in Preston.

HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18 + and a capacity of 680.

The Night Nurse will be based in the healthcare department and will be assisting with emergency response and being part of the Primary Care Team.  Please keep in mind as a night nurse there will be a requirement to do a day shift on rotation for ongoing professional development and support every 3 - 6 months.

As part of your induction the first 4 weeks will be days and once this is completed you will then go on to your permeant night rota.     Hours:

• Monday - Sunday - 37.5 hours per week
• 8.15pm - 7.45am - Nights Only
• 7 nights on - 7 nights on

Salary:

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,659 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
• Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications required:

• Registered nurse Adult NMC
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

• Excellent communication skills
