North Lambeth Primary Care Network (NLPCN) is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, caring and friendly Qualified General Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team and provide exceptional care to our diverse patient population.

We particularly welcome applications from GPs who have completed their training within the last two years and are looking to establish their career within a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking primary care environment.

Main duties of the job

The Role

The successful candidate will work at Waterloo Health Centre, providing comprehensive primary care to our diverse patient population for 4 to 6 sessions per week. The role is permanent and will be predominantly based on site.

You will work as an autonomous clinician within a supportive multidisciplinary team, managing a varied caseload and providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

Job description

Your clinical responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking face-to-face and telephone consultations in accordance with the practice timetable.
• Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Making professional and autonomous clinical decisions regarding patient care.
• Developing and reviewing individualised care plans in partnership with patients.
• Managing patients with acute and long-term conditions in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and practice protocols.
• Providing preventative care, health promotion, screening and health education.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately in accordance with current legislation, professional standards and relevant guidelines.
• Reviewing and authorising acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Making appropriate referrals and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and services.
• Undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate.
• Maintaining clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
• Completing referrals, correspondence and other clinical documentation in a timely manner.
• Contributing to QOF, clinical audit, quality improvement and other data collection requirements.
• Participating in clinical meetings and multidisciplinary team working.
• Contributing to non-patient-facing clinical management and service development activities.
• Supporting clinical leadership and development within an agreed area of responsibility, where appropriate.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake the normal duties and responsibilities associated with working as a GP within primary care and to work in accordance with GMC standards, Good Medical Practice and relevant NHS requirements.

North Lambeth Primary Care Network is a collaborative group of six practices across South East London, working together to deliver high-quality care to a population of approximately 76,000 patients.
