Job summary

This post is based at St George's Hospital however you may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as and when necessary. An opportunity has arisen within the Cellular Pathology Department for a full time Pathway Co-ordinator. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working person to work closely with all grades of Cellular Pathology staff in our busy but friendly department. In addition the post-holder will work closely with Cancer Services staff in all of our partner Trusts.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include working with consultant pathologists, laboratory and administrative staff, as well as Cancer Services departments, to ensure that all patients have their Cellular Pathology reports completed and authorised within the pathology targets set for cancer patients. You will also play a fundamental role in preparation of cases for multi disciplinary team meetings. Good literacy, numeracy, IT (particularly Microsoft Excel) and communication skills are required; keyboard skills would be an advantage.

You should have the ability to work as part of a team and to manage your own workload. Previous experience of medical terminology and data entry in a diagnostic pathology environment would be advantageous.
