We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Dorset with the opportunity to apply for a substantive post next year.

Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals have recently undergone a merger into UHD and at present there is an Emergency Department on both the Poole and Bournemouth sites. RBH is the designated site for PCI and stroke thrombolysis, and Poole is the designated Major Trauma Unit as well as having acute Orthopaedics and Paediatrics. A new state of the art department has been built which RBH moved into next year. Critical Care and Maternity are now located in the same building and Poole ED will move across to the RBH site next year along with Paediatrics.

The job plan is intended be worked flexibly over a seven-day working week. It is anticipated that patient related administration would be performed within the confines of the DCC PAs.

Any draft timetable is intended to show the Trust's expectation of the post and the facilities to be provided. Adjustments may be required in consultation with the appointee, clinical colleagues and Senior Management. In particular, a change may be appropriate after consultation to allow the development of a special interest held by the successful candidate.
