Would you like to be part of continuing to shape a new and innovative service that supports children and young people in crisis at the front door of care in the Children's Accident and Emergency Department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW). Offering timely triages and assessments to support their wellbeing with a view to preventing admissions to the acute wards.

We currently have a 12-month fixed-term/secondment vacancy for a Band 6 Clinical Practitioner to join the CYP - MH Crisis Acute Liaison Team based at the Caludon Centre in Coventry (on same site as UHCW) We are seeking clinicians with experience of risk management and safety planning, who want to make a positive difference to the lives and outcomes of children, young people and their parents/carers.

Experience of working with children and young people is desirable but not essential and we therefore welcome applications from those working in wider services who regularly support individuals in crisis and collaboratively work with them to ensure safe and effective care is supported and delivered.

Role Overview:As a Clinical Practitioner within the children's services urgent care umbrella, you will assess children and young people referred to the service, collaborating closely with internal teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated, holistic, and effective care pathways.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Experience in crisis or acute care, supporting mental health needs and assessment. Children's experience is desirable.
• Strong assessment, risk management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care

We are looking for practitioners with Professional registration in mental health nursing, social work or allied health professionals, you will need a demonstrable level of clinical experience, and to be an excellent communicator and a good team player. You will need to be passionate and committed to delivering a service to a high standard, as well as being able to work in partnership with other teams and services including the Acute Trust hospital.

CALT (CYP- MH Acute Liaison Team) currently work 365 days a year and offer a 12 hour service per day (8am to 8pm) 7 days a week to complete triages/assessments at the Children's Emergency Department at Acute Trust hospital UHCW. The Band 6 posts will require flexibility that reflects the service needs, you will need to be able to work shifts including weekends .

For information the service is hoping to develop further and be available 24hrs per day in the future so there may also be a requirement to work nights going forward.
