We are seeking a Salaried GP to join Jesmond Health Partnership for 6 sessions/week (negotiable).

Main duties of the job

• Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred General Practice services.
• Manage a varied caseload via AskMyGP, telephone and face-to-face consultations.
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions.
• Undertake clinical administration including results, correspondence, referrals and prescriptions.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician.
• Participate in the practice on-call rota, proportionate to sessions worked.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and practice development.

Job description

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide a high standard of clinical care to patients registered with the practice.

Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations as required.

Carry out home visits where clinically appropriate.

Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.

Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with local and national guidance and the practice formulary.

Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other healthcare professionals in line with local pathways and protocols.

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and comprehensive clinical records using SystmOne and any other Practice's clinical system.

Participate in doctor on-call responsibilities and other clinical rotas as agreed.

Provide health promotion and preventative care advice to patients.

Manage long-term conditions in line with evidence-based practice and national clinical guidelines.

Participate in safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults in accordance with practice and statutory requirements.

Support the delivery of enhanced services and other commissioned services where appropriate.

Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other quality improvement initiatives.

Participate in clinical audit, significant event analysis, and quality improvement activities.

Work in accordance with GMC and all relevant professional standards.

Administrative and Professional Responsibilities

Complete clinical administration in a timely manner, including referrals, prescriptions, medical reports, and correspondence.

Ensure accurate clinical coding and appropriate use of electronic patient records.

Work in accordance with practice policies, protocols, and organisational procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance and data protection requirements.

Participate in practice meetings, clinical meetings, educational sessions, and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Maintain mandatory training and continuing professional development requirements.

Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes.

Support teaching, training, and supervision activities where appropriate.

Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role.
