Job Overview

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes.

You will support clients with their daily needs, promote independence, and help maintain their health, safety and wellbeing. Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers.
• Assist with medication in line with care plans and organisational procedures.
• Prepare meals and support with eating and drinking where required.
• Carry out light household duties, including cleaning and laundry.
• Follow individual care plans and respect clients' preferences and choices.
• Complete accurate care records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or changes in a client's condition.
• Promote dignity, independence and choice at all times.

Job OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a community setting. Previous experience in care homes or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients' residences.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort
• Help with medication management and administration as per care plans
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding if required
• Perform light domestic duties including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
• Document care activities accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
• Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure personalised care delivery
• Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times

Skills

• Driving licence and access to own vehicle are desirable for efficient travel between locations
• Experience working in a care home or providing home care is beneficial but not mandatory
• Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans
• Good IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
• Organised, reliable, and able to work independently within a community setting
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
