Service Support Assistant (SEWAS)Council

A permanent, part time position (22.5 hours a week) has arisen within the South East Wales Adoption Service (SEWAS) for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the team at Mamhilad. The position will involve working from the SEWAS office a minimum of one day per week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of electronic filing systems and databases (including Civica and WCCIS) and the co-ordination and minute taking of complex meetings relating to adoption e.g. Adoption Panels, which need to be transcribed in a timely manner.

You must have experience of carrying out administrative duties in an office environment.  It is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative and meet the deadlines/timescales for a busy adoption service.

Educational attainments essential for the position are 5 GCSE’S (A-C or equivalent) and typing or keyboarding skills. NVQ 3 or equivalent (or commitment to working towards achieving NVQ 3) would be desirable.

Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process.

The post holder will be required to complete an application for a disclosure of criminal records.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre-employment screening process will be undertaken which will include a basic disclosure.
