We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Ward Clerk to join our team on the Rheumatology day unit or a person looking for a new challenge in an administrative role.

We are looking for a reliable and highly organised individual who has excellent communication skills. You must also be able to demonstrate an adaptable, enthusiastic approach to your work, and the ability to manage your workload with various competing demands for your attention within a busy clinical area. You must be able to be courteous and empathetic to our patient group with a passion to work in Rheumatology.

Shift pattern - Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00

Main duties of the job

Basic IT knowledge is essential. Previous NHS experience with e-record and working within a ward clerk environment is desirable. Training will be provided.

The role involves providing a front line clerical service to clinical staff within the unit, ensuring an appropriate standard of support is delivered in a timely manner. You will provide a meet and greet service to visitors, patients and staff. A key responsibility for the post holder is to ensure the timely and accurate inputting of data is captured for all day case and outpatient activity, admissions, transfers and discharges of patients.Additional duties will include stock ordering, supporting the nursing team and wider MDT team.

• To provide and maintain efficient and effective administrative support to the Unit Sister/ Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Ensures case notes, investigations, X-rays and results are available for new admissions, ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
• To ensure that case notes are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines and compliance with legislation
