We are recruiting up to 8 sessions at NPC Nelson, North Shields. The successful candidate will be expected to work Fridays. NPC Nelson is a welcoming, community-focused practice serving the population of North Shields and surrounding areas, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As part of Northumbria Primary Care and the wider NPC North Tyneside neighbourhood, the practice benefits from a diverse multidisciplinary team and a collaborative network across four local sites, providing opportunities for shared learning, peer support, and service resilience. Based at Nelson Health Centre alongside other NHS services, the practice is well connected within the local community and works closely with a range of partner organisations, including women's refuge services, rehabilitation centres, care homes, children's services, and OpCourage. Serving a population with significant health inequalities and higher levels of deprivation, Nelson has a particular focus on continuity, preventative care, wellbeing, and proactive long-term condition management.

Main duties of the job

As a GP Practice which is part of Northumbria Primary Care, we work with flexibility and independence to run the surgery based on what is best for our patients and staff, and additionally we have the regular and consistent support of the management team to help us to focus on what is clinically important.

As a Salaried GP the post holder will be a key clinician within the team. A job plan will be agreed with you to provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Practice team to provide general medical services for the needs of the practice population and to help ensure the Practice provides the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

The post holder will manage a busy caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

The post holder is expected to contribute to the operational and strategic management of the practices within Northumbria Primary care and there are opportunities for personal and professional development across a wide range of areas within primary and secondary care.
