This is an exciting opportunity to join Livewell Southwest as the Clinical Lead for the Nutritional Risk Monitoring Clinic within the Plymouth Eating Disorder Pathway.

This new role will provide clinical leadership to a dedicated team delivering specialist physical health monitoring for people experiencing eating disorders & disordered eating. Working within a developing pathway, you will lead service delivery, provide expert clinical guidance, support multidisciplinary decision-making, & help shape a responsive clinic for those requiring monitoring, including hospital admission when necessary.

Main duties of the job

As Clinical Lead for the Nutritional Risk Monitoring Clinic, you will provide operational, managerial & clinical leadership for a specialist physical health monitoring clinic supporting people with eating disorders and disordered eating. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the clinic, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective & high-quality care, while providing expert advice & guidance to the wider team on physical & mental health risk, safeguarding, care planning & clinical decision-making.

A key aspect of the role will be leading & developing this innovative clinic, helping to shape pathways for individuals requiring enhanced support, including escalation to acute hospital settings where necessary. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Plymouth Eating Disorder Service, Eating Disorder Intensive Treatment Team, primary care, acute hospitals and wider partner agencies to ensure joined-up, person-centred care.

You will provide leadership, supervision & support to staff, contribute to quality improvement, audit & service development initiatives, & promote best practice across the pathway. The role requires strong clinical leadership skills, the ability to manage complexity & risk, & a commitment.

Job description

The Clinical Lead for the Nutritional Risk Monitoring Clinic will provide clinical leadership for a specialist physical health monitoring clinic within the Plymouth Eating Disorder Pathway. The post holder will oversee the day-to-day operation of the clinic, provide expert clinical advice and support to staff, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care for people experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating.

The role includes supporting risk assessment and management, contributing to multidisciplinary decision-making, liaising with partner agencies, and escalating care when required. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the Eating Disorder Service, Eating Disorder Intensive Treatment Team, primary care and acute services to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

As this is a developing clinic, within a developing pathway, the post holder will play a key role in shaping and developing the Nutritional Risk Monitoring Clinic and admission pathways, supporting service improvement, clinical governance, staff development and the delivery of best practice across the eating disorder pathway.
