An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Allt Goch Medical Centre.

This Advanced Nurse Practitioner role will involve working alongside our team of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and a supportive administration team to provide care and treatment to patients with either long term conditions or undiagnosed undifferentiated diagnoses.

The successful Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be a mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations

Main duties of the job

• Competitive salary; £35- £40 (DOE)
• Salaried / Self Employed / Permanent Locum considered for the right candidate
• 18-20 Hours over 3 days (negotiable)

What we are looking for in an Advanced Nurse Practitioner;

• Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
• Previous experience in the role of ANP is essential and
• Skilled in triage, emergency care and treatment of minor illnesses.
• Hold an Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification
• Can show evidence of using autonomous physical examination and assessment skills in practice
• Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children

Job responsibilities

The successful post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

• 15-minute consultation Slots
• Share of home visits (if required)
• Able to manage acute presentations
• Able to manage chronic conditions
• Able to order appropriate investigations (bloods/radiology).
• Able to refer appropriately to secondary care or organise emergency admissions.
• Able to see all age groups
• No restrictions on prescribing.
• Able to see pregnant women in regards non pregnancy related issues.
• Able to deal with mental health presentations

We are situated close to the A55 (junction 33) and the magnificent North Wales Coast. Our team comprises of: 2 GP, 1 Part time ANP, 3 Part time Practice Nurses and a supportive administration team all of whom provide excellent care for its 5400 patients. Our clinical system is Emis Web.
