Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician / Team Leader to join our Estates & Facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining the complex infrastructure that supports patient care across our hospitals and community sites.

This position also qualifies for Recruitment and Retention Payment of £3500 per year.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of our Estates service, you will lead a team of electrical craftspeople while undertaking planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, installations and improvement projects across a diverse healthcare estate.What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supporting a team of electrical maintenance craftspeople.
• Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and associated engineering plant.
• Diagnosing and resolving faults on complex LV and HV electrical systems, generators, switchgear and other critical infrastructure.
• Supporting minor works, capital projects and service improvements.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and Trust policies.
• Supervising contractors and assisting with Permit to Work processes.
• Supporting apprentices and developing team capability through coaching and mentoring.
• Participating in the on-call rota to provide emergency support outside normal working hours.
