Head of Engineering, Science & Automotive (Further Education)Council

University College Birmingham is seeking an experienced and ambitious curriculum leader to lead its expanding Further Education provision in Engineering, Science and Automotive.

Working closely with the Assistant Principal (STEM), you will provide academic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring that students benefit from an engaging, industry-focused curriculum, high-quality teaching and an excellent overall experience.

You will lead curriculum planning, quality improvement, staffing and resource management, using performance data effectively to improve student retention, achievement and progression. Developing strong relationships with employers, awarding organisations and other partners will also be central to ensuring that the curriculum remains responsive to emerging skills needs.

As a visible and supportive leader, you will inspire colleagues, promote professional development and establish a culture of high expectations and shared responsibility. You will also retain an active involvement in teaching, keeping you closely connected to students and current classroom practice.
