Teaching Assistant required

(1-1 and small group SEN support within class)

Fixed Term Position – initially until July 2027

Mon – Thurs  (‘am’ position - initially within Key Stage 1)

12 hours per week (Term time only)

Teaching Assistant:

Grade 5 Scale Point: 7-9  £26,403 - £27,254

Pro-Rata: Approx £11,380 - £11,771

Required as soon as possible

About the role:

Our Governing Body is wishing to employ a Teaching Assistant to be located initially KS1 in support of pupils with additional needs.

We are seeking a suitable, warm, caring individual to share the role of supporting a small number of pupils who have a range of specific needs including communication, interaction and sensory needs. The appointed individual will be supporting the learning and pastoral needs of the pupil/small group of pupils, and will work closely with both school staff and parents.

St Luke’s C.E.(C) Primary School is an exciting school which values those whom work and learn within it. The dedicated and motivated team of staff work hard to maintain the standards and provide many excellent opportunities for learning and enrichment.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working in similar settings, supporting primary aged pupils and may have had relevant experience with such needs.

We are seeking candidates who:

Hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 or are working towards completing.

Have recent and relevant experience within the primary phase.

Are highly motivated and enthusiastic about pupil’s learning.

Able to contribute to and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Able to inspire others and lead by example.

Able to demonstrate commitment to raising standards of teaching, learning and achievement.

Friendly, approachable and flexible.

Organised and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
