An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and passionate professional to join Sharmans Cross Junior School as the Special Educational Needs and disabilities Co-ordinator and (SENDCo).

Sharmans Cross Junior School is a thriving 7–11 junior school in Solihull with a strong community presence.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly effective SENDCo who is passionate about ensuring that every child, regardless of need or barrier, is able to thrive and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be committed to championing inclusion and securing the very best outcomes for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The ideal candidate will be determined, resilient and ambitious for our children and families. They will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, along with the emotional intelligence required to work effectively with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies. They will be an advocate for children with SEND, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met through high-quality provision and support.

We are looking for someone who can lead and develop inclusive practice across the school, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality teaching that enables all pupils to succeed. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and be able to drive continuous improvement in SEND provision, identification processes and intervention strategies, supported by a wider network.

The successful applicant will be an exceptional practitioner with a passion for inclusive education, strong leadership skills and the expertise to lead and further develop the school's SEND provision.

Safeguarding and welfare of children and young people with all staff collaborating in this commitment is at the core of the school.  The successful applicant will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check in line with the government’s safer recruitment guidelines.
