St. Martin’s CE Primary School has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated EYFS teacher to take on a leadership role within Early Years. This TLR role includes a full-time teaching commitment within our Reception class. alongside responsibility for leading and developing high-quality Early Years provision. It allows the successful candidate to work closely with senior leaders to enhance the provision, teaching, and learning experiences for children in Early Years.

The role will involve:

Providing strong, ambitious and effective leadership of the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring high-quality provision and positive outcomes for all children.

Leading the implementation and ongoing development of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, engaging, well-sequenced and responsive to children’s needs and starting points.

Ensuring children with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those requiring additional support receive appropriate, inclusive and ambitious provision.

Developing strong and positive relationships with parents and families, recognising their important role in children’s learning and development.

Leading effective transition arrangements, including children entering Nursery/Reception and moving into Key Stage 1.

Contributing positively to the Christian vision, values and ethos of St Martin’s, supporting every child to “Let their light shine.”

Visits to the school are essential. Lesson observations will take place as part of the selection process week beginning 12th October 2026, with interviews the following week.

All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, Barred List Checks, along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

Enhanced DBS disclosures will be renewed at least every five years.
