Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated and organised individual to join our dynamic Termination of Pregnancy Team. They will be expected to deliver an effective and competent level of clerical and administrative support for our service based at Bridgend Health and Wellbeing Centre at Bridgend working 30 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The role will include the efficient co-ordination of the service, and delivery of booking systems for appointing patients. It will also encompass being the first point of contact for patients and colleagues contacting the service both in person and by telephone in a confident and sensitive manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

The successfull candidate will need to have good communication skills, be organised and flexible and be able to demonstrate their abilit to work on their own as well as in collaboration with others within the multi disciplinary team maintaining effective working relationships.

We are a fast paced environment that requires an adaptable individual who can self direct.

You will need to have good IT skills ad competence in using a variety of IT applications, including Myrddin.

Knowledge of electronic record management systems will be beneficial but not essential.

Main duties of the job

Managing the administrative processes associated with patient pathways for the Termination of Pregnancy Service. Ensuring targets are met following the RCOG Guidelines.

Ensuring all queries are managed ina timely manner, be first point of contact for referrals into the service provision. Organise and manage own workload and that of the clinical team ensuring all appointments are managed effectively and the workforce is scheduled so that RCOG timelines are met.

Ensure all HSA1/HSA4 forms are processed correctly and submitted to the Chief Medical Officers in a timely manner.

Arrange follow up appointment, enquiries via telephone calls and assessing each situation accordingly to manage individual situations.

Job description

Actively manage the administrative processes associated with patient pathways for the Termination of Pregnancy Service and the functioning and effectiveness of the clinical teams, ensuring targets are met, following the RCOG guidelines for the service.

To be first point of contact for self referrals into the service, this can be emotive, as sensistive information is required.

Handle queries and ensure relevant information is imported and confidentially maintained.

Work closely with the Consultant Lead and Lead nurse to ensure all guidelines are adhered to and patient care is seamless.

Organise and plan own workload and that of the clinical team ensuring all patient appointments are managed effectively.

Demonstrate good organisational skills, prioritising and planning skills.

Ensure all HSA1/HSA4 forms are processed correctly and deal with any necessary queries.

Be a key contact in providing patients with access to heal thcare professionsal correctly and deal with any necessary enquiries.

Arrange ultrasound scan appointments if necessary.
